Nick Iadarola: Who is he?

Nick Iadarola graduated from SUNY Geneseo as a business management major in 2001. He is a Rochester native who has a deep love for his hometown. Nick knew ever since he was in high school that he was always interested in business and sales. He loved how the harder you worked, the higher the rewards were. Nick describes himself as a “laid-back, go with the flow” kind of guy who does not enjoy being tied-down.

What does he do & his thoughts on his job

Nick currently works as a document imaging consultant for Information Management Services. Information Management Services is a company that has its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio however; Nick is currently working at North Brunswick, New Jersey.  He performs the important task of digitizing files into electronic files that may be used for computer-use for institutions, schools, hospitals, etc.

Nick believes that his job is definitely important for the future, along with the present. Society has become very dependent on technology especially the computer, and the internet. Also, time is being saved in that instead of searching for files, the information can be found instantly by being digitalized. Nick truly enjoys what he does for a living, and loves his life.

Thoughts on Geneseo & its People

Nick really enjoyed his time at Geneseo, and all that it has taught him. He felt that the environment was perfect for him, and the people that he met at Geneseo have helped him to this very day. He believes that meeting all different kinds of people, and networking will definitely benefit you in the future.

I loved Geneseo, I loved the town, you can walk anywhere, and you get to know the people in town. The intimacy of the classes, especially juniors and seniors when you were in your major courses, and building a working relationship with those people. Whenever I need financial advice, I’ll still go to the people I met in Geneseo for advice. I honestly still talk to people I went to school with. Networking definitely helps, and they have helped me to this very day.”

Nick’s First Job Experience & Nick’s Advice for Future Graduates

Nick’s first job was a sales representative for a small company. He worked at that company for about two-years. He realized that the job was not for him and he had conflict with his boss. Nick felt that his boss did not know how to reward his employees, and wanted to move on to a different position.

Nick’s advice for future graduates besides networking is to be creative. Nick believes that thinking outside of the box, and questioning the norm, will definitely help to change things for the better in the future.

“Be creative and think outside of the box in everything you do.  Always ask why. Because I said so is not a good response. Nothing new can ever evolve from the ordinary.  Renovation will move you ahead.”
